How did you become an artist?

From a young age, I was captivated by the world of art. It was more than a hobby; it was a way to express my innermost thoughts and emotions. My journey took an unexpected turn after completing my studies in opera singing. Due to personal reasons, I found myself at a crossroads, needing to redefine my path. In this period of transition, I turned to my lifelong love for art.

Initially, it was a means of personal fulfillment, a way to channel my creative energy. However, as I shared my work, it began to resonate with others. Gradually, clients started to seek me out, drawn to the unique perspective and passion evident in my illustrations. This organic growth marked the beginning of my professional career as an illustrator.

Art, for me, has always been more than a profession; it's a testament to the power of resilience and the beauty of turning a passion into a purpose. This journey from opera singing to illustration wasn't just a career shift—it was a reaffirmation of my true calling.

Where do you get inspiration?

My inspiration is deeply rooted in the world that surrounds us, yet it transcends the ordinary, reaching into realms of fantasy and fairy tales. There's a certain magic in the pages of those books, where gorgeous illustrations bring to life stories of wonder and enchantment. These vivid, fantastical elements deeply influence my work.

Beyond the whimsical allure of fairy tales, I am also drawn to the mystical and esoteric. The spiritual elements of our world, those that dwell just beyond the edge of our understanding, provide a rich tapestry of inspiration. I am captivated by the symbolism, the hidden meanings, and the profound emotional resonance found within spiritual themes.

In my artistic process, I strive to translate the feelings and visions that emerge in my mind into tangible art. Whether it's the ethereal quality of a fairy tale illustration or the enigmatic allure of esoteric symbols, my work is a bridge between the seen and the unseen, the known and the mysterious. Through my art, I aim to create a visual language that communicates these deep inspirations, inviting viewers into a world of wonder and introspection.

What’s your hardware setup?

When it comes to my digital painting setup, I rely on my trusty Wacom Cintiq 22HD. This tablet provides a perfect balance of comfort and precision, allowing me to bring my artistic visions to life with ease.

What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?

I'm particularly fond of Clip Studio Paint's brush engine, which is both versatile and user-friendly. The access to an extensive array of free brushes from the artist community greatly enhances my creative process. Additionally, the color mixing feature is a standout; it mimics traditional media remarkably well, allowing colors to blend naturally without losing their vibrancy. This makes the digital painting experience very enjoyable.

How long does it take you to make a single illustration?

The time it takes to create a single illustration can vary greatly, depending on the complexity and details involved in the piece. Typically, an illustration takes between 20 to 40 hours to complete. This time frame allows me to fully delve into the creative process, ensuring that every element of the artwork is crafted with care and attention to detail. Of course, simpler illustrations require less time, but I always strive to maintain a high standard of quality, regardless of the project's scope.

How has Clip Studio Paint improved your workflow?

While Clip Studio Paint offers a range of fantastic features, I find that it hasn't significantly altered or improved my workflow. I appreciate its capabilities, but my process and the quality of my work have remained consistent regardless of the software I use. For me, the art creation journey is more about the ideas and skills I bring to the table rather than the specific tools I use.
